Who: Our practice sessions are for anyone who would like to attend with no application or trial process to get into the club. Just rock up to one of our sessions to get in on the fun of frisbee!
Where: We are based in Stroud at the Rodborough Playing Fields which is just below Rodborough Community Hall however Friday practice sessions are held at Thomas Keble Sports Hall. See below for more information on each of the sessions and our training calendar.
When: At Five Valleys Ultimate we run practice sessions on Sundays, Wednesdays (April to October) and Fridays (October to March).
Summary: Our Sunday practice sessions are our pride and joy at Five Valleys Ultimate, so come join us to end your week with some frisbee playing fun! Sunday sessions run throughout the year but the time they take place changes with the clocks (read the time section to find out more).
Description: Sundays begin with a chuck about in groups or pairs. When enough people arrive we go for a run around the pitch and do some stretches to warm ourselves up. After the warm up, we pair up and divide into teams ready for 2 hours of exhilarating Ultimate. Depending on how many people show up the team size and number of subs vary. Be sure to bring a good amount of water to keep yourself hydrated between points and during water breaks.
Where: Rodborough Community Hall, Butterow West, Rodborough, Stroud, PQQH+88
When: All year round
Time: 14:00 - 16:00 (October - March)
15:00 - 17:00 (April - October)
Summary: Wednesdays are an often relaxed but occasionally skills focused training session to give you some mid-week energy! When the cold darkness of winter starts to fade in early April, Wednesdays start and run through to when the clocks change in October.
Description: Wednesday sessions begin with a throw around in groups or in pairs. This can help warm up your throws, so grab a group or partner and a frisbee and have a chuck about. After a few minutes we do some warm ups, such as jogging, lunges, the club favourite "big orange ball" and many more. Next if a coach is there and has something prepared, then we do some drills, some skills practice, some set-play learning, or a mixture of these. Then we pair up with someone roughly our ability split up into teams and then get into games. Our coaches can't always make it to Wednesday sessions however and we won't always do skills practice every time they can. So, keep an eye on our calendar to see what our wonderful coaches might have planned for our next Wednesday session!

When: April - October
Time: 18:30 - 20:00 (sometimes goes on longer if sun is up later)
Summary: Welcome to Friday training where the games are fun, fast-paced and quite warm compared to the weather outside. During the winter, Friday training starts and runs from early October to mid to late March. We just can't get enough Ultimate!
Description: Fridays begin with some throwing around while we wait for people to arrive, then we do warm ups, after which we get into games. The games are five aside and we'll usually have enough for three teams of five and do rotating five minute games for the session, with a few water breaks to cool down and refresh. Of course some sessions we'll have fewer numbers, but that just means more frisbeeing fun for those who turn up! The sports hall has a solid and at times slippy floor so we recommend wearing your grippiest trainers.
